I am a free-agent journalist, ex-NFL beat writer and award-winning blogger with a decade of experience covering pro sports who recently moved to the Boston area so my family could plant permanent roots. I took an unconventional route to covering the NFL. After graduating from Penn State with a media studies degree, I had no idea what I wanted to do with my life. Out of necessity, I took a job processing credit reports for mortgage companies. It was pretty much like "Office Space," so I asked myself, 'What would you actually enjoy doing?' I decided I wanted to write about sports, went to grad school at Towson in Baltimore and was lucky enough to parlay an internship in the features department at the Baltimore Sun into a full-time writing position, eventually spending three years on the Ravens beat. In 2014, I moved on to Minnesota, where I was the lead Vikings beat reporter until July of 2017. It was a great gig, but family comes first. I now hope to resume my journalism career in New England.
